Delete your account

Permanently remove your GymiaFit account and personal data.

Deletion is irreversible

Once you delete your account, your profile, workout history, body measurements, squad memberships, posts, uploaded media, and Premium subscription status are permanently removed and cannot be restored.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

  1. Open the GymiaFit app
  2. Tap your profile (bottom right)
  3. Tap Settings Account
  4. Tap Delete account
  5. Confirm with your password

Your account and all associated data are permanently removed within 30 days.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

Send an email from your registered GymiaFit email address to:

support@gymia.fit

Subject: Account deletion request

Include: the email address registered with your account. We will verify ownership and confirm deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Account credentials (email, password hash, sign-in providers)
  • Profile (display name, photo, bio)
  • Workout logs, sets/reps/weight history
  • Body measurements and progress photos
  • Meal logs and nutrition data
  • Squad memberships, posts, comments, challenge participations
  • Uploaded exercise videos and photos
  • Push notification tokens
  • Direct messages you sent, and your support conversations
  • Your customer record with our payment and analytics providers (Stripe, RevenueCat, PostHog)

Deletion runs across every one of our systems. If one of them is temporarily unavailable, the request is queued and retried automatically until it completes — it is never dropped. Your account is locked and signed out immediately either way.

What is retained (and why)

  • Payment records (10 years) — required by Italian tax law (DPR 633/1972, Art. 22). These records are stored separately and contain only invoice data, not your fitness data.
  • Encrypted backups (up to 35 days) — backup snapshots may include your data until they are rotated out of storage. Backups are encrypted at rest and inaccessible except for disaster recovery.
  • Aggregated, anonymized statistics — usage metrics that cannot be linked back to you (e.g., total active users by week).
  • Safety reports, anonymized — if you filed or were named in an abuse report, the report is kept as a safety record (GDPR Art. 17(3)(e)) but your identity is stripped from it, so it can no longer be linked to you.
  • App feedback, anonymized — feedback you sent us is kept to improve the product, with your identity and device details removed.
  • Workouts you shared with your gym — kept as gym library content that other members rely on, with your authorship removed. Your own private workouts are deleted.

App Store subscriptions: cancel these first

If you subscribed through Apple or Google, they — not we — hold the billing agreement, so deleting your GymiaFit account cannot cancel it. You will keep being charged until you cancel it with them directly:

  • Google Play: Play Store → Subscriptions
  • Apple App Store: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

Subscribed on the website (Stripe)? Nothing to do — deleting your account removes your customer record at Stripe, which cancels the subscription automatically.
